Understanding the House Edge in Casino
One of the most important things to understand before playing at any casino, including 888new, is the concept of house edge or house edge. This is the mathematical advantage the casino holds in every game, which ensures the casino can continue operating in the long run.
The house edge varies depending on the game type and bet selected. Baccarat, for instance, carries a very low house edge – the Banker bet sits at around 1.06% while the Player bet is around 1.24%. This makes baccarat one of the statistically most favorable casino games for players.
Blackjack can have a house edge as low as 0.5% if you apply the correct basic strategy. European Roulette carries an edge of around 2.7%, while American Roulette is higher at 5.26% due to the additional 00 slot. At 888new, we encourage players to understand this concept so they can make smarter betting decisions.
Basic Strategies for Live Casino Games
While no strategy can guarantee wins in casino games – since the element of chance is always present – there are several smart approaches that can help you maximize your playtime and manage your bankroll more effectively.
For baccarat, many experienced players recommend always betting on the Banker, as it carries the lowest house edge. Although a 5% commission applies to Banker wins, it is statistically still the best long-term choice. Avoid the Tie bet, as its house edge can reach 14% – making it highly unfavorable for players.
For blackjack, basic strategy is the most useful guide you can learn. It tells you whether to Hit, Stand, Double Down, or Split based on your cards and the dealer's exposed card. Consistently following basic strategy can reduce the house edge to its minimum.
Bankroll management is equally important. Set a daily loss limit before you play and stick to it. If you reach that limit, stop playing regardless of the circumstances. Likewise, if you've had a good run of wins, consider stopping or reducing your bet size to protect your winnings. 888new provides bankroll management tools in the account settings to help you stay in control.
Why Is Live Casino Better Than RNG Casino?
RNG (Random Number Generator) casinos use computer software to produce random game outcomes without a human dealer. While fair and certified, some players feel less confident because they can't see the process happening in real time. In a live casino, everything is visible with your own eyes – the dealer shuffling cards, spinning the roulette ball, or shaking the dice cup – which delivers a far greater level of trust.
Beyond that, the social element of live casino is something no computer game can replicate. You can interact with the dealer via the chat panel, share winning moments with other players at the same table, and soak in the atmosphere of a real casino from the comfort of your own home. This is the main reason why the live casino section at 888new continues to grow as the top choice for Malaysian players.
